Depending on the needs of the application, the belts can be many different materials and dimensions, even within the same device, as long as the belt-weave along the row is balanced.

Belts can be almost any kind of flexible, low/no elastic material:	Cable (large cable uses some grease within its windings) Hose Tubing Wire etc.
Whether:	Hollow Woven Solid Laminated etc.

Load and stability can be altered with:

• Longer row of belts
• Toothed belts
• Wider belts
• Thicker belts
• etc.
