Many applications do not require an outer housing (race / hollow roller sleeve) such as:

• Planetary drives
• Track wheels (Sleeve conforms to orbit cluster shape so inner belts ride on outer sleeve)
• Speed changer
• etc.

Depending on the needs of the application, belts can be many different materials and dimensions, even within the same device, as long as the belt-weave along the row is balanced.

Load and stability can be altered with:

• Longer row of belts
• Toothed belts
• Wider belts
• Thicker belts
• etc.

Note: Belts can ride in grooves so that weight rests on rollers, not belts. Link: Load, static
